A cover unveiling ceremony of little magazine ‘Dure Kothao’, published by 3rd year students of the Bangla department of Rajshahi University (RU), held at the Shahidullah Kala Bhaban at 11.00 am on December 1. Dean of the Arts faculty poet Anik Mahmud, head of the Bangla department Amritolal Bala, Saidul Ambia, Supria Rani Das and Mahmuda Aktar of the department addressed the ceremony while Jannatul Ferdaous Jyoti and Chinmay Kumar Mallik conducted it. Editor of the this magazine Atondra Onishesh in his speech said the purpose of taking such type initiative is to reserve the culture of the university for upcoming generation. He also put emphasis on publishing literature based book to accelerate the country's cultural progress.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor today urged all peace-loving people across the world to enhance their involvement in poetry practices to establish a peaceful society. "Poetry practices help us to remove all kinds of darkness from our minds, which ultimately will help build a peaceful society," he told a function at the Central Shahid Minar. The function was held on the occasion of a four-day Kobitar Shanti Podojatra, which began today with theme of "Shantir Prithibi Chai, Srishtishilotar Binash Nai. Renowned poets, cultural personalities, artists from home and abroad are participating in the four-day poetry gathering and they voiced in chorus to build a peaceful planet for all human beings. -BSS
