Renowned Indian classical vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty wishes to extend cooperation for enriching the practice of classical music in Bangladesh as this country has special place in his mind.
"Mymensingh district of Bangladesh is the birth place of my parent; so, I don't feel Bangladesh is a different country . . . only the barrier here is the geographical boundary. I want to do something for the people of this country through my father's favorite classical music," Ajoy said at a program at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) here.
Ustad Asit Dey, Ustad Shahdat Hossain Khan, BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, director of Desh TV Tarique Sujat and Sohrab Uddin, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty said Bangladesh is a place blessed by the Creator. Music is everywhere here but the place lacks of opportunity learning methods, he said, adding, "So, the opportunity will have to be created for them."
Liaquat Ali Lucky has been organizing year long training program for promoting classical music here. As part of it, training program will now be arranged in online with Ajoy Chakrabarty, interested people from the divisional cities will be able to take part in this training, he said and added that classical music training centre will be set up in all 64 districts in phases.
Lucky said the BSA will soon sign an agreement with Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty.
