ICAB elected 20 councilors

Twenty councilors have been elected in the election to the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and the Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) held in Dhaka & Chittagong on Saturday.
 
The election result of the council-2015 for the period 2016-18 was published on Sunday at ICAB office in the capital’s Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue.
 
The 18 elected council members for ICAB Council of Dhaka Regional Constituency are Abu Sayed Mohammed Nayeem FCA, Dewan Nurul FCA Islam, Adeeb Hossain FCA Khan, Akhtar Sohel Kasem FCA, Mahmudul Hasan Khusru FCA, Parveen Mahmud FCA, Anwaruddin Chowdhury FCA, Kamrul Abedin FCA, Muhammad Farooq FCA, Gopal Chandra Ghosh FCA, Nasir Uddin Ahmed FCA, Md Mahamud Hosain FCA, Md Humayun Kabir FCA, Muhammed Farhad Hussain FCA, Mostafa Kamal FCA, Md Shahadat Hossain FCA,  A F Nesaruddin FCA, and Dr Jamshed Sanyiath Ahmed Choudhury FCA.
 
Muhammad Aminul Hoque FCA, Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed FCA, Md Jasim Uddin FCA, Md Ali Akther Rezvi ACA, Md Sarwar Hossen FCA, Md Ashraful Azim FCA,  Md Selim Reza FCA, Md Al Amin Siddiki ACA and Abdul Mannan ACA got elected for the 9 posts of Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC).
 
In Chittagong, Md Shaifur Rahman Mazumder FCA and Moddassar Ahmed Siddique FCA elected member for ICAB Council of Chittagong Regional Constituency while ICAB Chittagong Regional Committee (CRC) got Arup Chowdhury FCA, Ahmed Dawdood FCA, Imran Abu Hasan FCA, Md Kamrul Hasan FCA and Mohammed Reazul Kabir FCA as members.
 
A total of 39 individual candidates contested for 18 posts of ICAB Council of Dhaka Regional Constituency and 14 candidates were in race for 9 posts of Dhaka Regional Committee.
 
In Chittagong, 3 candidates contested for 2 posts of ICAB Council of Chittagong Regional Constituency while 5 members of Chittagong Regional Committee were elected without any contest.
 
A five-member election commission headed by ICAB chief election commissioner Anil Chandra Nath FCA conducted the election peacefully. -UNB
