To discuss contemporary health issues and recent study findings, a two-day scientific conference on health hosted by Health Foundation of Bangladesh and Faith Bangladesh begins at ICDDR,B auditorium on 7 December 2015.
Health experts from home and abroad will present 47 papers in the conference. 25 papers on the first day and 22 on the second day.
The papers will cover diversified health issues, including health coverage in Bangladesh, child health, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, oral and dental healthcare, environmental health, maternal health, and health system.
Several of the papers based on new studies will divulge new findings, some very alarming, said an official on Saturday.
Dr Valerie Ann Taylor, founder and coordinator of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP), and Prof Dr Hosne Ara Begum, Executive Director of Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS), will be given awards on the second day in recognition to their contributions to the health sector.
National Professor Dr Abdul Malik, founder and President of National Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute, will attend the function as the chief guest.
Abbas Bhuiya PhD, Deputy Executive Director of icddr,b, Prof Dr Akhtarun Naher, Director of NIPSOM, and Matiur Rahman, Editor of Daily Prothom Alo, will be the special guests.
