DU student jailed for BAU entry test forgery

A mobile court on Saturday jailed a student of Dhaka University (DU) for fraudulence in the admission test of first year honors courses under 2015-16 academic session of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).

The convict was identified as Rasel Sohrab, a student of Pharmacy department of Dhaka University (DU).

He admitted DU in 2013-14 academic session and also the residential student of Shahidullah Hall.

The mobile court led by Executive magistrate Md. Al-Amin, sent Rasel to jail for one year and also fine one thousand taka for forgery in the admission test of BAU.

BAU Proctor Prof Dr AKM Zakir Hossain told, “Invigilators caught Rasel while he was trying to give proxy of an admission seeker. Later, we informed it to the Mymensingh mobile court.”

Mobile court magistrate Md Al-Amin told the correspondent that Rasel was sentenced to one year of imprisonment under public examinations act 1980 (3).

Mentionable, the admission test of BAU was held on Saturday in two shifts. The examination was held at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. A total of 65 percent among 26,600 applicants sat in the test 1200 seats.
