National Munda Students Convention ends in Naogaon

The three-day long 5th National Munda Students Convention concluded in Badalgachi Upazila of Naogaon District on 31 December 2015.

The convention began on 29 December in the upazila aiming to promote Munda language, culture and education in Bangladesh and establish a narcotics-free society.

Lawmaker of Naogaon-3 constituency (Badalgachi-Mohadevpur) Salim Uddin Tarafdar  inaugurated the convention as the chief gues at Badalgachi Jilahar Government Primary School premises.

With former headmaster of the school Binay Krishna Pahan in the chair, organizing secretary of upazila unit Awami League Md. Abdus Salam addressed the program as the special guest.

The three days program was addressed, among others, by central president of Bangladesh Munda Students' Association (BMSA) Haripal Chandra Pahan, chief adviser Saresh Tomgaria, general secretary Dharani Pahan, finance secretary Lalmon Ekka, convenor of the convention observance committee Sushen Pahan, freedom fighter Budu Munda, Dhiren Pahan, Jatin Pahan, Satish Pahan, and Ramnath Pahan.

Addressing the ending ceremony, speakers underlined the critical need for including indigenous children from every corner of the country in government's education program, considering their equal rights in nation building activities.
