BASEXPO 2015 begins Aug 6 in Chittagong

A three-day long Bangladesh Apparel and Safety Exposition-2015 (BASEXPO-2015) begins Chittagong on 06 August 2015.

Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is arranging the first-ever exhibition to present the ready-made garments sector of Bangladesh before the world. 

The BASEXPO-2015 will be held at Hotel Radisson Blue Chittagong Bay View Auditorium with the participation of different buyers, forums, representatives from different international organizations, 74 reputed local and foreign companies of fabrics, knit, woven enterprises, garments machineries, labour representatives, educationists and media personalities. 

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP, will inaugurate the exposition as the chief guest while representatives from European Union Parliament, Ambassador of United States and United Kingdom will attend the function as special guests. 

Apart from inaugural and concluding ceremonies, seminars on four separate subjects related to the current state of country's garments sector, Branding Bangladesh, Training and Development Skills for strong, Sustainable and Balanced Growth and to reach export target to 50 Billion dollar in 2021, live fashion show every day at the exhibition venue with the participation of noted artistes are the main features of the BASEXPO-2015. 

First Vice President of BGMEA Nasir Uddin Chowdhury said this while exchanging views with senor journalists in the city held at Chittagong Seniors' Club this afternoon. 

He hoped that BASEXPO-2015 would be a centre place for reunion of local and foreign importers and exporters involved with the trade and the event would also play a key role in increasing further the growth of the industry. 

He said BASEXPO-2015 would offer the buyers and visitors of home and abroad the opportunity of seeing for themselves the entire range of garments fabrics and accessories manufacture in Chittagong under one roof.

Nasiruddin Chowdhury also placed some demands that included supplying gas and electricity to the industries in Chittagong.
