Speakers at a seminar here expressed that collective efforts are needed for eradicating child marriage from the society.
They said ending child marriage requires work across all sectors and at all levels. "It requires us to understand the complex drivers behind the practice in different contexts and adapt our interventions accordingly."
Working directly with girls to give them the opportunity to build skills and knowledge, understand and exercise their rights and develop support networks, is an important part of efforts to end child marriage, speakers added.
Alor Dishari Mahila Sangstha with the assistance of Department of Women Affairs, Patnitala, organised the programme at upazila parishad auditorium in the district on June 2016.
