The Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) celebrated its 57th founding anniversary amid festivity and fanfare.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the program by releasing balloons and white pigeons at helipad of the university campus at 10:00 am.
A colorful rally was brought out by the university authority, marking the day where several hundreds of students, teachers and staffs of BAU took part. Later at 11 pm, a seminar was held at the Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin auditorium of BAU.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid attended the seminar as chief guest while Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matior Rahman attended as special guest.
Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Ali Akbar attended as chief patron while Pro- Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Jasimuddin Khan presided over the program. BAU Emeritus Prof Dr Sattar Mondal presented a note titled "BAU Achievement and Future Plan' as a key note speaker. BAU not only in agriculture but also in other sectors has something which makes us different in country. Among them graduate training institute, BAU research system and germplasm center, said BAU VC.
An 'Agricultural technology exhibition' was also held at agriculture faculty corridor which was invented by BAU.
A cultural night was held at BAU auditorium on the occasion of university day.
